Body Life Small Groups
During the school year (from September to May), our Sunday evening gatherings are small groups that meet in member’s homes for Bible study, fellowship and prayer. One of these groups always meets at the church building on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. We have also special groups (OK, also all of our groups are special, but these two are special because they are grouped by their ages. these are the “CrossTrainers” (Middle School, Grades 4-8) and the “Teens4Him” (High School, Grades 9-12). We also have a Men’s Small Group that meets on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. and and Ladies Bible class group that meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
Our first series for 2018 will be a short four-week study entitled “After the Amen: Thoughts on Following Jesus.” One of the best know “red-letter” sections in the New Testament was “The Sermon on the Mount.” Did Jesus “extend the invitation” at the end of that sermon? We know his conclusion was, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice…”
Jesus expected people not just to listen to the sermon; He expected people to spring into action. But when Matthew 8 begins, Jesus is the one springing into action! This study series will look at what happens “after the amen” of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 8-9. The small group study series will track along with the Sunday morning sermon study.
Here is a listing of our current groups. Meeting times are subject to change, and some of the groups may decide to rotate the host responsibilities as well.
These small group meetings are an excellent opportunity to study, pray and fellowship in a more active and involved way with other Christians as we seek to become more and more of a one another body of believers, God’s Family Under the Cross.
If you would like to be a part of one of these groups or would like more information, please email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call (877-4322) the church office.
